On August 1st there was a parade celebrating Kuching Day. This was like the parade a small town puts on for itself. Everyone was invited to participate. There were groups of school children dressed in costumes or playing instruments. There were groups of bicyclists, motorbike riders, religious groups and dog owners with their pets. This group was lavishly costumed and seemed to enjoy "showing off" and having fun.
